Pakistan Diplomacy
The talks in Islamabad highlighted Pakistan’s growing diplomatic importance. Pakistan built this role through years of careful diplomacy. Balanced relations with many countries. It worked with the US, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt. It kept engagement with all sides.
Pakistan has played this role before. It helped the US and China restore ties in 1971. It also supported the Geneva Accords in 1988. That process helped Soviet forces leave Afghanistan. Pakistan often acts as a bridge between powers.
Pakistan as Mediator
Today, the world lacks strong mediators. China focuses on its own interests. The US reduces its global mediation role. This creates space for countries like Pakistan. Pakistan can act as a middle power in diplomacy.
But this role brings risks. Pakistan must balance relations in the Middle East. One wrong step can strain key partnerships. Pakistan must manage diplomacy with care.
