Citizenship Reform
The 1951 law allowed only fathers to pass citizenship. This rule excluded many children. These children had Pakistani mothers and foreign or undocumented fathers. They could not get legal identity.
The 2000 reform tried to fix this issue. It gave women equal rights. But it did not help children born before 2000. Many people remained undocumented. The new amendment fixes this gap.
